They could probably tell the jokes weren't going to be easy will ferrell sort of laughs and thats not "workshop." also, anything longer than about 15 pages with the exception of "xavier the musical" normally doesn't get considered. and yes the onstage drug and alcohol use probably made them squeamish. I am not on the board, so those are my pure speculations. you should consider submitting your real play to real people, ie the cincinnati playwrights initiative, or whatever they are called. i know there is a group that reads new works and does real "workshops"/public readings of them. google it. i look forward to updates!
